Mindset and Mayhem Founder

Carla Mardell

For more than 25 years, I have worked with women, families and children around the world.

Along the way, I have seen that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to life, wellbeing or personal growth.

I have over 20 years of experience working with motivation, self confidence, stress, growth mindset as an Educator, Master EFT Tapping Practitioner and Certified Mindset Coach.

I bring experience as a breath-aligned yoga teacher who has taught on teacher training retreats and understands movement in a curvier body. I have lived experience of living with lipoedema.

Alongside my professional experience, I bring experience of workplace and team leadership stress; navigating family responsibilities: living immersed in another culture as an expat; and learning to work with my brain and body rather than against them.

I believe coaching, nervous system regulation and mindset tools aren't one-size-fits-all, stand-alone practices. They are tools to build capacity, expand what is possible, and reconnect with the joy and fullness that life has to offer.

I help people reconnect with their innate wisdom, understand their patterns, and develop practical tools to live more and stress less.

My Approach

Like many capable women, I spent years believing the answer was to work harder, push further and manage more. Through my own journey, I discovered that lasting change wasn't about adding more effort. It was about understanding the patterns beneath the pressure.

My initiation into understanding myself, and how my thoughts shape my experience of life, began in 1996 through a speaking event on the power of goals and self-talk.

The idea was inspiring. Books and DVD seminars were motivating.

Changing thoughts and shifting our state of being sounds simple, but requires more than positive thinking. Implementing power thoughts in the reality of life was much harder.

It wasn't until 2005, when a friend introduced me to yoga and I discovered EFT Tapping. This was the moment I experienced the power of combining ancient wisdom and philosophy, and energetics with practical talk therapy tools for change.

EFT Tapping showed me that we can shift our emotional state, release patterns that keep us stuck, and create new beliefs that feel authentic rather than simply repeating words we don't yet believe.

Yoga philosophy taught me awareness: noticing the stories we create, the things we label as good or bad, and the reality that life holds both challenge and ease. The practise taught me movement energetics and the importance of our breath.

Together, these practices opened the door to combining motivational psychology, behavioural change, emotional intelligence and nervous system regulation with a deeper understanding of our thoughts, emotions and body connectivity.

Over the past 20 years, I have continued studying and practising yoga, EFT, emotional intelligence, metacognition, mindset and regulation tools and taught others. Sometimes while working as an educator, sometimes as a practitioner. I believe in doing things that light you up.

I bring these approaches together to help people understand what is happening beneath their stress, recognise the patterns shaping their experience, and reconnect with what truly matters - to them.

The work I do is not about adding more things to your already full life. It is about creating the space to live more and stress less, because it's true -change your thoughts - you change your life.

Life Can be Mayhem
